| My husband and I had a great time, but the reason that we will be back is because of the awesome staff. We felt like we were staying with family. My husband lost his glasses and could not see to appreciate the water, sunset, all of the beauty of the Keys. I had mentioned this to Sonia, in the office, our son overnighted the glasses to us but we were still concerned whether we would get them or not being in Marathon and it was Sat.. Around 11 am Sat. there was a knock at the door. It was sweet Sonia with a package containing my husbands glasses! She semmed just as happy as we did to see them arrive. Jack,our dockmaster, was so patient going over the map for our safe boating and fishing experience. He got us all rigged up and off we went. He knew his stuff. We caught yellowtail snapper, a small shark, grouper and a big blue fish. The restaurant was wonderful. I had the early bird for $15.95. The meal consisted of warm bread with a side dish of a bruschetta topping, black bean soup, caesar salad and my choice a pasta dish with a light pink sauce and loaded with seafood. The owner was visiting tables genuinely concerned about your dining experience. The service was attentive and could not have been better. The lovely Ashley our housekeeper, did more than just laundry and cleaning rooms. We were looking to do some off shore fishing and she was so helpful trying to find us the best boat to go on for what we wanted to do. Everyone really cared about us, you don't find that much anymore. Like I said we felt like family. It was a wonderful getaway and we will definetly be back! |

| Stayed at the octogon upper level. Pros: VERY CLEAN and spacious. Full size Fridge, 2 tvs, 2 couches, full stove/oven, microwave, huge dining table, balcony area with seats. We loved Deborah our housekeeper and Josh our server at the hideaway cafe, both were friendly happy people to be around. The boats were always available for use. Played giant checkers, sat in the hot tub and relaxed. Nice swings to watch the tide. Great view. The hideaway was never busy unlike all the surrounding area restaurants. We loved watching how the tide would go out, we could explore where the water once was. Cons: Parking was difficult, I wish each unit had assigned parking. No wifi in our room- didn't need it anyway, but would have been nice. |

| Must read this: Got word from some ol'coot that works at the Marathon Official Information place that the restaurant was good. Well, the food was by far, the best I've ever tasted. I've dined all over the country on many many different occasions. Nothing, I say nothing can come close to the food and the presentation of the food at the hideaway cafe. If you thought you've eaten, well you haven't until you tried this place. You don't have to read the rest of this but I would like to share: I flew my girlfriend down to Marathon in a small single engine Cessna 172 and had a wonderful flight following the chain of the Keys from South Florida. We stayed at Hawks Cay. I was not impressed. We tried the food at Hawks Cay. I was not impressed. The dolphin experience at Hawks Cay, pretty fun and entertaining. Waverunner tour of duck island and its surrounding, EXCELLENT. I believe when I fly back down again, I will DEFINITELY be eating at Hideaway Cafe, EVERY night. BTW, the staff provided EXCELLENT personal and friendly service. |

They really exceeded my expectations. Skip the Hideaway, breakfast was fine. Dinner was over priced for Filet Mignon that had been previously frozen. Waitstaff was not attentive and over whelmed. I had to ask to have dishes removed from our small table for 2. It was too bad great location for a restaurant. |

For us the charm of the place is the combination of relaxed atmosphere, due to friendly people helping you at the restaurant, the office, and with launching you with the boats, with superb views, nice places to sit and enjoy them, good food and well kept rooms. We understood it is a fisherman's paradise; well, even though we didn't fish, we, as professional biologists, thoroughly enjoyed the wildlife in and around the water that is quite present at all times of the day. There is a perfectly good sandy beach, but the fun is around it. This was our third time in 5 years in the Keys, and we recommend it to people of all ages, with and without kids, fishing or just watching ! |

| What a Great place to get away from the big city rush and enjoy the relaxed Island feeling. We only stayed two days and would have loved staying longer but work and kids were calling us...better yet, Draging us back. Spend at least a week. We ran into a lot of European and south American workers in The Key West area. Be prepaired to get a lot of strang looks when you ask simple Questions. More than likely they have a few weeks or months English training. Stay in Marathon or at the resort they have just about all you need with a great and friendly staff. Prices are not that bad and they don't rake you for a Coka-Cola or candy bar. |

| Just spent 4 days 3nites at Rainbow bend!!!! The first afternoon when we arrived was dark and raining we were so depressed!!! But the next morning the SUN was out and Rainbow Bend was just Great!!! The sandbar was just great the best Ive seen in all of the keys!! Ive been going to the keys for years and this was the best! The pool and Hot tub were just great!! The place is a little old but that does not matter the rooms were all clean and the place was quite and just the best. The boats were old but fit the ticket just fine . We fished for two days caught plenty of fish just were the dock guys told us to go! But for those people the wrote negative reports on trip advisers sour grapes who knows what we and our two best friends just had the very best time a Rainbow Bend and will be going back again in the near future |

Included in our stay was a new Boston Whaler skiff, gassed up and ready to go whenever you are, for fishing or sightseeing. I'm a master captain and fishing guide in Alaska and on Lake Okeechobee in Florida. For the money this is one of the best values for a vacation that you can get. We also drove down to key west to ride our bikes around there as well. What we liked most about this place was that it is set back away from it all, they have such great amenities along with the best pancakes!!! We ate them every morning that we were there. We loved the beach area and the life size chess game. There is a reef close by that is accessible by the boat that comes with the room that is just gorgeous!! | Although I was frequently moved, I had a wonderful time! If I could make one suggestion on the frequent moves, I had (3) adults and (1) teenager and the last move, into the main house was uncomfortable. Although it too was spacious, Room #5 was our favorite. Their were enough comfortable beds for all of us. I noticed that the newcomers in Room #5 had smaller children, likes ages 9-11 years and they would have been able to sleep much more comfortable on a bahama bed than a grown woman. I would have been happy to provide them the very spacious Main House to remain in #5. The oceanview is beautiful and more importantly, the rooms are extremely clean! Having teenagers with me, the only time they felt bored was when the weather went bad the last few days. I commend the Rainbow Bend and their entire staff from the front office, boat dock or cleaning staff, A VERY GREAT JOB!!! |

We drove south from Hollywood, Florida, looking for a place to rest and get out the the heat. Lickily we stopped at Rainbow Bend. i believe you had very recently opened and we stayed for a delightful time. The accommendations were wonderful down to no phones in the rooms! We boated and swam and truly enjoyed the trip. The food was fantastic and because of Rainbow Bend we have enjoyed many return visits to the Keys wih our now grown beautiful daughter. hope we can sneak back in this summer for the weekend. | A friend told me of this Resort about ten years ago. Since then, our family stays here at least four times a year. We even had our anniversary party in the Cafe. The picture doesn't do the restaurant justice. In the evening it is tansformed into an elegant but casual place with linencloths, etc. The food is superb! The Resort has something for the entire family. The kids have a ball. There is even a boat on the sand for the toddlers. I am not a fan of fishing but my husband is, so while he is out on one of the boats in the afternoon, I spend my time reading books (something I don't get to do at home with children) on the beautiful beach. The kids are safe because it seems that no matter where they are I can always see them. It's like a sand playpen. This spot has truly been one of our favorite places and is defenitely a real find. The staff is friendly and truly caters to each guest. Good to see this web site! |
